Musings from the Meta-Verse: Tip of the Iceberg Cosmologies

Before you begin: please take a moment, settle in, enjoy the image above—of me holding my baby daughter as a first-time dad, tune into the frequency of restful wonder. Now allow your mind to wander outward from the edges of that image: to the room, to the street outside, to the vast sky beyond the vast sky. Further—past the solar system, past the galaxy’s edge, past everything known—to the edge of the cosmos. And then…

State of change

Barack Obama's amazing campaign brought "Hope" out of the closet. How else to explain the million plus donors: 1 out of 12 people who cast a vote for him. I've never given to a political campaign before. I've never made phone calls to or knocked on doors of perfect strangers to ask for their votes before. This election, I have, and often. He said he would engage in this campaign only if he could leave the process better at the end. Barack Obama should view this goal as accomplished. Those who could be fired up, are fired up. Grassroots democracy is in full bloom.

We shouldn't expect this campaign to bridge the divides in this country. That's not the priority, yet. Too little time, too hard for someone who's just introducing himself to most of the country to, at the same time, nudge the unwilling towards personal breakthroughs. The thing to remember is that this election is only one small part of a restoration in America. The campaign is necessary but not sufficient. Barack Obama will need the tools and the moral legitimacy of the Presidency in order to start "writing the next chapter". That bigger prospect should put the ups and downs of the primary campaign into perspective.
We were mere feet away! And all we had to do was stand
in below freezing temps for 5 hours!

  1. Yes we can! Don't give up. Barack will make a great President and will write the next chapter in American History.
